Thanks everybody for commenting...
look for another giveaway this month!

I feel like Julie Andrews, spinning around on that mountain top...
minus the nun get up of course...

Music seems to be the theme for me this week...

I like having a theme for my week...
last week? crocheting...I couldn't stop buying yarn...
the week before? fish...specifically anchovies...don't ask

Back to this week...

I stumbled across my new favorite praise and worship song (God of the Ages...check it out on the video bar to your left), shared it on Facebook and then found out my kid is in one of the videos, singing in the choir (the full story? read my 'God of the Ages' post). I haven't been able to stop listening to it all week.

So I wanted to have a giveaway today, to share some great music, some of my choice, and some you get to choose on your own.

Here's the giveaway...

(1) $25 ITunes Gift Card

(1) Bill Gaither's 20 All Time Favorite Homecoming Songs & Performances CD
(Old School)

(1) Chris Tomlin Hello Love CD (New School)

So here's what you need to do... leave a comment to the question, just one comment per person please (and if you leave a potty mouth comment a.k.a. leave a comment that is inappropriate, it'll get deleted--) and when time's up, I'll spin the number wheel I have set up here at the house and whichever number it lands on...actually my number wheel is in the shop this week so it'll be up to fate who wins (and by fate I mean putting the number of comments in a hat and picking one!)

The giveaway ends tonight at 11:00 p.m. Eastern
February 28th, 2009...

And the question you need to comment on?

*What's your favorite song/CD?*

You know the one...
it's the one you'd pick to take with you to a deserted island,
you play it in the car so often the kids groan with it starts to play,
you love it so much you even know the correct words to it...
So get that comment a-posted and have a great Saturday!

I'm going to Heaven. By: The Harper Brothers.

I'm going to Heaven some wonderful day. I'm getting ready for the Lord is on his way. Soon I'll leave this world behind and I'll spread my wings and fly. I'm going to Heaven, some wonderful day.

Something to look forward too every day, thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ.

There are so many songs that I love but right now my favorite is "You Said" by Shane & Shane. It is a song about the promises of God, it also takes about the nations being saved! Love it!

I've recently fallen in love with hymns. Its crazy because it wasn't so long ago that they were fully abhorred by me (I'm listening to dcb's rendition of All Creatures penned by Francis of Asissi and its taking a lot for me to remain calm) so my current favorite is Daniel Renstom's version of Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder for a few reaons: a) the lyrics are incredible, b) the musical composition is pretty infectious, and c) it takes me back to 20/20 where they sing it every year and I'm reminded that I am dust and God is bigger than I could possibly fathom.

"I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me

What words or actions will we present to our Lord and Savior on the day that we meet Him face to face...I can't fathom...I do not have the words in my little bitty brain to thank Him for all that He has done for me and my family. I also think of those who have gone on before us and their reaction when they saw Jesus' face and when He spoke the words, "Well done, My good & faithful servant". I just can't wait for the day that I fall at His feet and worship Him for all eternity. As the song says, I Can Only Imagine.

I love this song by Misty Edwards from International House of Prayer called, "People get ready..."...it is not the version that most people know by Crystal Lewis but it is OH so powerful....the song is 10 minutes long....and fun to sing along with!

Gosh...this is extremely hard for me as I have WAY more than one favorite song....but....When I heard "Be Near" by Shane and Shane, I remember falling to my knees and singing these words to Him...BE NEAR, OH GOD!!! I must have sang that song over and over again hundreds of times. I could not get it out of my head and it became the cry of my heart...BE NEAR, OH GOD, BE NEAR, OH GOD, YOUR NEARNESS IS TO US OUR GOOD..."

Thank you Father God for loving us enough to BE NEAR to us every moment of every day!
