Fab Fourth Giveaway!!!

Ok, so everyone knows its 4th of July weekend and on this most patriotic of holidays, when most Americans are probably thinking back to the days of the 1776, our brave Founding Fathers, gathered at Independence Hall, fife and drum music playing softly in the distance and fireworks exploding in the nightime sky...

all I can think about is what we're gonna eat.

I've made my shopping list for the weekend and its beginning to look a lot like my childhood Christmas lists to Santa...big stars next to the really-want items. But instead of roller skates and a bike, now my big stars are next to potato salad and onion dip. And hot dogs.

And crunchy coleslaw.

And seafood salad.

Which brings me right to the television show, "Deadliest Catch" (smooth segway, I know). "Deadliest Catch" is about crab fishermen in Alaska and I'm addicted. Well, I'm not really addicted, I just like it alot. Alot alot. Anyway, around our homestead, no one else likes to watch it, even the guys say its boring (how can they say its boring? the waves, the boats, the crab, the waves, the boats, the crab...ok, maybe it is boring)

But I like it. And I like the 4th of July. And I like crab. And I like you.

So we're having a 4th of July/Deadliest Catch/Seafood Giveaway! Ahoy Mateys!!!

(doesn't make a whole lotta sense, but whatever, its fun!)

so, here's the giveaway...

(1) $25 Red Lobster Gift Card

Here's what you need to do... leave a comment to the question, just one comment per person please (and if you leave a potty mouth comment a.k.a. leave a comment that is inappropriate, it'll get deleted--) and when time's up, I'll cast out my crab pot and how ever many crab are in the pot...no, wait...my crab boat has a hole in it...
I guess I'll just pick a number out of a hat...anyway...

The giveaway ends Saturday, July 4th at 5:00 p.m. Eastern
and the question you need to comment on?

"what are you going to do this 4th of July?"
so hurry and get your comment in before time is up...
I'm outta here...I think the "Scariest Tuna" marathon is on soon!

Michael and I never plan anything for the 4th of July. Sad isn't it? When the kids were little (the tight wad he is:) they sat on the roof to watch the fireworks. Since he has off I know the one thing we will do is SLEEP IN!! Leisurly get up, drink our coffee and talk. Then we will putz around the yard and house enjoying our free time.
Have a wonderful 4th!! I like you too.

Jake and I are going to the downtown area of Dunedin where we live to a family night concert and fireworks by the water. It is FREE and hopefully the weather will cooperate...we had 5 inches of rain yesterday! Sunday, some of our family is coming over for a get together and dinner. I am sure Jake has some firecrackers of his own to set off for the neighbors too! Happy 4th to you and your family Deb!

Our plans for the fourth of July are to spend time together as a family. We are going to go into Jacksonville and put in at the St. Johns and watch the fireworks from the boat and celebrate together as a family. Well these plans have dramatically changed because both vehicles need transmissions and my hard working husband is now working on rebuilding one today and will shortly drop and rebuild the second one. So the plans are now by the wayside and this is alright because we live in a country where we are free and our forefathers fought for our freedom. Praise the Lord that Jesus died for our sins and we are free indeed. Tell a soldier thank you for our freedom that we have in this country and please remember our troops as they fight for others freedom and to keep ours.

Okay, this probably doesn't qualify as an entry because once Jake gets home, I don't know what we'll be doing, but I'm so curious as to how you come up with these giveaways! Love to watch them.

Well, we have about 4 birthdays in my family this week - so we are having a cookout to celebrate everyone's birthday (including my great nephew who will turn 1). We'll be swimming, fishing, riding four-wheelers and knowing my crew....a whole bunch of games I'm sure. A whole day of nothing but fun. Posted by: Amanda Wiggins

My family and I, along with my in laws, Barb and Darrel, are going to St. Augustine for the day. We are going to walk around and do some sight seeing, eat everything that smells good, and then later watch fireworks over the river. Have a great fourth!!!

I'm eating with the family and watching the Deadliest Cathc Marathon, of course! :)

Glad to find another blogger who loves DC as much as I do!

The Griffis family and I were invited to go to the lake with some friends of the family, but it all depends on how Eddie is feeling once he gets home. This is my 1st time celebrating the 4th of July! I'm just so happy that Eddie, a.k.a. dad, is finally coming home! It has been a crazy week without him here!

Also, I watch Deadliest Catch and Jordan and me were talking about joining one of the teams on the show. You're not alone, my friend, it is a good show!
We are just going sleep in, get up and eat breakfast together, then do nothing most of the day, the have a July 4th supper with family

Since my sweet daughter-in-law Kay has already told you what we'll be doing tomorrow, I'll just add the following. I'm so thankful that I have grown kids who love me and their daddy and invite us to go wherever they're going whenever they're going there!!! July 4th will be lots of fun sitting by the water, right down from the fort in St. Augustine, watching the fireworks with the kids. I'm so grateful for my family AND my freedom this 4th of July. As me and you would say Deb...
WOOOOO HOOOOOO!
Happy 4th everyone!
