He Is.

This morning I opened the Word to hear from my Lord personally. That sounds kinda strange but for weeks now, I've been reading the Word not in a relational sense but as a goal, which is to read through the Bible in a few months. While that is worthwhile, I have found myself focused on that goal instead of reading and applying the Word personally. Not so this morning. I turned to His Word this morning to hear Him speak to me. Just He and I. No goals, no distractions. Just me and my Father. I went to Psalm 16, written by David...

Perserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
He is my Sheltering Wing under which I am protected.

I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you."
He is my Portion and my Pardon.

As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,
in whom is all my delight.

He is the Giver of my precious blessings of family and friends.

The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply;
their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names on my lips.

He is Mighty to save.

The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
He is my Sustainer and Stronghold.

The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
He is my Hope.

I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
He is my Constant and Faithful friend.

I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand,
I shall not be shaken.
He is the Armor I wear daily.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
He is my Joy and Comfort.

For you will not abandon my soul to Sheoul,
or let your holy one see corruption.
He is Trustworthy and True.

You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
He is my All in all.
