First Giveaway Of 2010!

**********We Have A Winner!**********
Congratulations....Mary!
(Comments Are Now Closed!)
Finally home...

My dad is home recovering from his stay in the hospital and from surgery. I'm so thankful for the prayers, calls, messages and comments. Life is about each other, caring and concern for one another, and I have been immensely blessed by the people that the Lord has placed in my path.

So 2010 is here...why not start the year off with a Giveaway!
***Confetti falling from the ceiling, whistles blowing, horns tooting, applause applause***

If you check out my blog list (that's that long list of websites on the right side of my blog), one of my favorite blogs is The Pioneer Woman. Her name is Ree Drummond and I found her blog through a couple of clicks of my mouse one Friday afternoon a year or so ago. She has a great blog/website with a lot of amazing pictures, recipes, and stories about her life as a rancher's wife and mother of four. Ree also wrote a cookbook this year and it's great! Her recipes are accompanied step by step with pictures and we have tried out quite a few here at home...

So here's the Giveaway...

(1) One copy of The Pioneer Woman Cooks Cookbook
and because you can't really enjoy a new cookbook unless you actually cook something...

(1) $25 Walmart Gift Card
use it to buy a new sifter, or some asparagus...or, if you're like me, a digital kitchen timer because you haven't been able to figure out the timer on the stove you've had for four years...
or the timer on the microwave either...

So here's what you need to do...just leave a comment to the question below (just one comment per person please, and if you leave a potty mouth comment a.k.a. something innappropirate, it'll get deleted) and when time is up, I'll ask my personal chef, Jacques, to pick a number...no, wait...he's got the week off...I'll just pick a number out of his chef's hat...

So here's the question...
"What did you eat too much of this past holiday season?"
My answer? Spinach dip...morning, noon and night...
The giveaway ends Sunday January 10th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern so hurry and get those comments in!

Hey Deb nice to have you back, missed you this week!! What I ate to much of, but was so yummy, was gumbo. My sister in law Dee made it for us in Texas and it was soooo good. I had two very large bowls, one right after another and then some more later. You could say that everything that she cooked the week of Christmas I ate to much of and it was real fooood not just the sweet stuff!! She made drunken red fish, duck breast wraped in bacon cooked on the grill, honey ham with this huge potatoes thak Karl picked out, and a country boil with king crabs.. sooo good. Just named a few things there was so much more!! Awesome cook and awesome food and fellowship!!

Hey Deb, glad everything is well with your dad, we've been praying for you and we sure did miss you while you were gone.
The thing I ate the most of was some coconut cookies that Travis made. They were delicious.

Fudge, fudge and more fudge...homemade, yummy and fattening!
How do you find time to do this? By the way, I love your new blog picture, or maybe it's not new, I've been absent from the blogging world since November....
What didn't I eat too much of would probably be easier to answer, but if I had to pick one thing it would be oreo balls and buckeyes...Seann made these in mass quantity as gifts to his co-workers and friends.

Thanking God your dad is doing well AND that you are home. I praise Him for that!
Gosh Deb, I guess I would have to say CHOCOLATE CANDY! Everyone who knows me well, knows I LOVE chocolate, it's the way to my heart but I used the Christmas holiday as an excuse to eat LOTS of it and I've continued right on through the New Year! I think I tasted just about every kind of chocolate candy known to man!

Hi Auntie, I like her blog site too! I might have to purchase her cookbook if I don't win as I like cooking. Anywho, I will have to say I ate A LOT of chocolate candy and chips but the most has been tamales...sweet tamales, red tamales, green chili tamales, chile verde & cheese tamales...in fact, I think I still smell like tamales because I have made so many and eaten so many!
Love ya, Nicole

So glad you're back. I ate too much dressing, although if I could give the rest of the world my address to send me all the unwanted fruitcakes out there, I would have eaten too much of that!

I ate too many peanut butter balls. I only fix them (with my grandchildren) at Christmas...and there is a good reason.

Glad your dad is doing well. Happy New Year!!
